Graffiti is where this work started and it never left. Shae Petersen (SRIL ART) paints commissioned graffiti murals across Utah: wildstyle and blockbuster lettering, character and creature work, and the photorealistic aerosol that grew out of twenty years with a can in hand.
Lettering is its own discipline and it is the part most clients underestimate. A piece can sit anywhere on the scale from clean and readable, for a storefront that still needs its name understood from the road, through to full wildstyle for a space that wants the real thing and does not want it explained. Both are freehand. Neither is a font.
The other thing a graffiti mural does is stop a wall being a target. Stone Unlimited had a Salt Lake City wall that was tagged, buffed, and tagged again. It became Godlike, one hundred feet of Neptune, Zeus and Hades, and Fox 13 and TwistedSifter both covered it in October 2015.
Commissions run from a single interior feature wall to a full building elevation, for private collectors, restaurants, retail spaces and commercial developments. Work has gone up in Salt Lake City, Sandy, Park City, Provo and across the Wasatch Front. If you have a wall and a rough idea, that is enough to start a conversation.
